Neurodevelopmental Therapy
Tapping into the potential of Neuroplasticity through Reflex Integration Movements
Our current medical system uses many labels for individuals whose brains are not functioning at their full potential. Sadly, diagnoses rarely come with instructions on how to move beyond the symptoms. The brain grows by enhancing abilities, not managing disabilities. Always remember:
Your child is more than a diagnosis!
Most diagnosis under the special needs umbrella are likely due to an injury of the central nervous system/brain. This can occur before, during or after birth. Brain injury can range from mild to profound. In essence, brain injury is all around us: The lucky ones become organized. Some are coping, some are surviving, some are struggling and others are in deep trouble
The good news is that brain injury is reversible thanks to neuroplasticity! Rather approach it with courage and wisdom!
The brain CAN heal
We are building on neuroplasticity which is the ability of the brain to change, grow and heal in response to use. All you need to learn is a practical science-based approach to healing the brain based on the principles and teaching of Matthew and Carol Newell from the Family Hope Centre. I have assisted many families on the programme as well as my very own children.
My personal experience in healing my child’s brain
My son showed challenges in sensory processing, eye motor movements, speech and emotional insecurities/anxiety. After years of research, I found phenomenal mentors and teachers such as Matthew and Carol Newell as well as Dr Svetlanan Masgutova’s Reflex Integration programmes which empowered me to heal my son by applying effective and efficient brain organisation principles. I am thrilled to say that my son is now a thriving teenager who is happy and well-adjusted at high school.
I can honestly say that I have personally “walked the talk” and I have witnessed in my son as well as in many other children that with consistency, dedication and unconditional love we can achieve miracles! Parents are the solution and the true experts in their children.
Our bodies are wired to reach their full potential and so is the brain and, in my sessions, we will tap into exactly this extraordinary potential:
The Neurodevelopmental Therapy I offer is based on two fundamental principles
Healing the brain means healing the gut
Whole, real foods, clean water and air, outdoor time and play, and adequate sleep constitute the fundamental building blocks of our brain healing program. These elements create a solid foundation for nurturing neurological health. Furthermore, we emphasize the essential connection between gut health and brain function.
A balanced diet not only supports physical well-being but also contributes to emotional and cognitive stability.
Healing the brain starts at ground level
My Approach
I believe that Neurodevelopmental Therapy or Brain organisation requires a unique and individualised approach, so I begin each session with a thorough evaluation of your child’s history, behaviour and development. By doing so, I am able to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child’s needs and establish a baseline from which to work. From here, I tailor a Neurodevelopmental Therapy program to suit your child’s unique needs and abilities.
Throughout your child’s sessions, I use a combination of activities, exercises and games to improve their neurological function, address their areas of difficulty and to strengthen their core developmental areas. I ensure that each child’s session is engaging, enjoyable and age-appropriate.
I also work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals involved in your child’s care, including paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists. By doing so, I can ensure that your child’s therapy is comprehensive and integrated, providing the best possible outcomes.
My approach is underpinned by empathy, respect and a deep understanding of the challenges that families may face. I believe in working in partnership with parents, as they are the experts when it comes to their child’s needs. By empowering parents with knowledge, skills and strategies, I ensure that they are equipped to support their child’s ongoing development at home.
